The moment you step onto the King David Sandton campus, you feel a sense of warmth, joy and connection that cannot be manufactured. Our magnificent grounds, state-of-the-art classrooms and world-class facilities create an inspiring backdrop, but it is our people who bring the school to life. The deep care shown by our teachers and staff forms the beating heart of our community. We are equally blessed with an inclusive and welcoming parent community who partner with us wholeheartedly and contribute to the unique spirit of the school. As our school continues to grow, our commitment to protecting the nurturing culture that makes every child feel seen, valued and loved, remains constant. This is more than a school. It is a second home where children begin discovering who they are and who they can become.

As Head of School, I am proud of our academic standards, but even more proud of our belief that a child is far more than his or her marks. At King David Sandton, excellence begins with curiosity, encouragement and a sense of safety that allows children to take risks and embrace challenge. We offer strong academic foundations and foster critical thinking while reminding students that growth matters as much as achievement.
We prepare our students for success in the IEB system, yet our vision extends beyond results. We aim to equip children with the skills they will need in a rapidly changing world including adaptability, creativity, resilience and empathy. As our campus expands and our programmes evolve, we remain committed to academic excellence rooted in joy, wonder and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Jewish spirit is woven into every corner of school life. As King David Sandton, we stand proudly on the values that anchor our community - Torah, Israel, Neshama, Creativity, Koach, Community and Excellence. We embrace L’dor V’dor with humility and pride. It is our responsibility to pass our heritage from one generation to the next.
A central part of this heritage is Hebrew, the language of our people. We teach it not only as a subject but as a bridge connecting children to text, prayer, Israel and Jewish identity with confidence and meaning. At the same time, we are proud South Africans, and our students learn Zulu and Afrikaans, embracing the languages that shape our broader society and national identity.
We welcome families from all backgrounds and levels of observance, creating a space where every child develops a personal and loving connection to Judaism. Through meaningful Jewish learning, Israel engagement, rich traditions and a strong values-driven culture, we give our children roots that allow them to grow wings.
Every child who joins our school brings something unique, a spark, a talent, a voice waiting to be heard. At King David Sandton, we honour the individual and nurture each child with intention. Our mission is to raise graduates who are moral, ethical and humane. Young people who show kindness, courage, humility and compassion. Sport, art, music, leadership opportunities and cultural activities all shape character in powerful ways, teaching collaboration, resilience, determination and joy. We walk with each child as they discover their strengths and develop their sense of self.
Selecting a school is one of the most meaningful decisions you will make for your child. I warmly invite you to visit King David Sandton. Walk our beautiful campus, hear the laughter in our corridors, meet our dedicated teachers and witness a community that is growing, evolving and dreaming bigger every day. We would be honoured to welcome you into our family and to partner with you in our shared mission - to instil Jewish values, to deliver exceptional education and to inspire a life of purpose.
Warm regards

Jewish Life & Learning
At King David Primary School Sandton, Jewish life is far more than a curriculum subject, it shapes every moment of the day. Each morning begins with davening, as our children’s sweet voices fill the school with soulful song.
Jewish values such as menschlichkeit are woven into daily life, from Bar and Bat Mitzvah etiquette and Tzedakah initiatives to our much-loved “Cool to be Kind” campaign. Our outreach programmes are immersive, inviting children to actively participate in chessed, not simply observe it from the sidelines.
The Chagim are brought to life through meaningful learning and experiences that foster joy and Jewish pride. Yom Hazikaron, Yom Ha’atzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim hold a special place in our calendar, connecting Israeli history, culture and current affairs to the enduring story of the Jewish People.
Hebrew is nurtured as a living language, a bridge to Torah learning and Israeli society. Through weekly Parsha learning, calendar highlights and programmes that welcome parents and grandparents onto campus to klayb nachas, our school creates rich opportunities for families to grow together.
Our passionate Jewish Studies and Hebrew educators work closely with the Division of Informal Jewish Education to deliver warm, experiential learning. Chosen for their relatability and enthusiasm, they inspire a genuine love of Jewish learning and connection.

Technology-enhanced Learning
Technology-enhanced Learning
Technology is used thoughtfully and purposefully across all subjects to develop creativity, collaboration and communication. Always guided by skilled educators, children have access to cutting-edge tools, including laptops, iPads and desktop computers.
As a Microsoft Showcase School, with many Microsoft Certified Educators on staff, technology enhances learning through music, video, gaming, Lego, robotics, coding foundations and 3D printing. From Grade R, children build logical thinking, problem-solving and pattern recognition skills, progressing to programming robots, e-sports and safe participation in tech olympiads as they grow.

Social and Emotional Wellbeing
Social and Emotional Wellbeing
The school day is designed to nurture the whole child – mind, heart, body and soul. Our full-time social workers and external partners lead programmes that build confidence, empathy and self-awareness, covering areas such as bullying prevention, physical and online safety, self-image and conflict resolution.
Beyond dedicated programmes, teachers are continually upskilled to support the development of essential life skills such as empathy, collaboration, communication and inclusion. Jewish values are lived daily through chesed initiatives and meaningful engagement with the wider community.

Real-World Learning
Real-World Learning
Our integrated, cross-curricular approach encourages children to research, question, evaluate and apply their learning to real-world challenges. Through inquiry-based learning, students develop transferable skills that prepare them to confidently tackle whatever awaits them.

Scaffolded Learning & Leadership
Scaffolded Learning & Leadership
Learning at King David is carefully scaffolded, supporting children step by step as they build literacy, numeracy, independence and critical thinking. In the senior grades, close collaboration with King David High School ensures a smooth transition, academically and emotionally.
Grade 7 is a highlight of the leadership journey. Together with Council Executives, students lead assemblies, organise programmes and run initiatives for the school. Cultural and sporting opportunities further nurture leadership, confidence and responsibility.

Beyond the Classroom
Rich sporting, cultural and extra-mural offerings support healthy bodies and curious minds. Inter-house and inter-school competitions teach teamwork, discipline and resilience – and how to win, or lose, like a mensch.
Children are also celebrated for achievements beyond the school gates, reinforcing pride and a sense of belonging.
Sports
Arts, Culture & Enrichment
choir, chess and marimba, coding, robotics and e-sports.
